Clark and Stanton Award
Eligibility:
- Undergraduate student enrolled in Biology 4392, 4393, Independent study (BIOL 5899) and BIOL 4698.
- Graduate students.
- Students who are participating in a Biology sponsored Study Abroad Program.
Van Grosse Scholarship
Eligibility:
- Full-time undergraduate students (freshman, sophomores, juniors or seniors) pursuing a degree in biology at ´ó·¢ÌåÓý¿ª»§ and conducting research in the field of Microbiology.
- Applicants must have at least a 2.5 cumulative GPA.
Biology Alumni Scholarship
Eligibility:
- Full-time Biology majors (sophomore or higher status, including graduate students) with a cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.
William S. LeNoir Scholarship
Eligibility:
- Full-time undergraduate students (juniors or seniors) pursuing a degree in biology at ´ó·¢ÌåÓý¿ª»§.
- Applicants must have at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA.
William S. Birkhead Scholarship
Eligibility:
- Full-time Graduate students in the Masters of Natural Science – Biology Track program with a cumulative GPA of a 3.0 or higher.
Department of Chemistry
Fluorescence Series Junior Award
Deadline: March 15, 2025
This Fluorescence Series Junior Award recognizes a bright rising Junior Chemistry
major. This award provides a $1000 annual gift ($500 each for Fall and Spring semesters).
Any current Sophomore chemistry major that has completed Principles of Chemistry I
and II with a grade of C or better and has cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher is eligible
to apply. Applications will be available during the Fall each year, winners will be
announced in the Spring, and funds will be available the following academic year.
If the awardee changes their major during the year, the funds will not be awarded
in the Spring.
Fluorescence Series Senior Award
Deadline: March 15, 2025
This Fluorescence Series Senior Award recognizes a bright rising Senior Chemistry
major. This award provides a $1000 annual gift ($500 each for Fall and Spring semesters).
Any current Junior chemistry major that has completed Organic Chemistry I and II with
a grade of C or better and has cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher is eligible to apply.
Applications will be available during the Fall each year, winners will be announced
in the Spring, and funds will be available the following academic year. If the awardee
changes their major during the year, the funds will not be awarded in the Spring.
Momentum Scholarship
Deadline: March 15, 2025
This Momentum Scholarship is for incoming Freshmen chemistry majors. This award provides
a $1000 annual gift ($500 each for Fall and Spring semesters). Any first-time freshman
chemistry major with a minimum high school GPA of 2.75 is eligible to apply. Applications
will be available during the Fall each year, winners will be announced in the Spring,
and funds will be available the following academic year. If the awardee changes their
major during the award year, the scholarship will not be awarded in the Spring semester.
Refresco Chemistry Scholarship
Deadline: March 15, 2025
This $2,000 annual scholarship ($1,000 in each semester) is awarded to a deserving
chemistry major. All students are encouraged to apply. A panel of chemistry faculty
reviews the application packets and chooses a group of finalist. The winner is determined
after a formal interview with representatives from Refresco. The winner is recognized
at the Department of Chemistry Awards Banquet. Applications will be available during
the Fall each year, winners will be announced in the Spring, and funds will be available
the following academic year.
The Outstanding Freshman Chemistry Award
This Outstanding Freshman Chemistry Major Award is awarded to one Freshman chemistry major. This award provides a $1000 annual gift ($500 each for Fall and Spring semesters). Eligible students must have completed CHEM 1211/1211L (with a grade of C or higher) and be enrolled in CHEM 1212/1212L during Spring. This scholarship is selected by the department faculty and no application is necessary. Qualified students will be reviewed, one will be selected, and announced during Spring semester. Funds will be available the following academic year.
