Biography
Shannon Godlove earned her BA in Medieval Studies from Smith College and an MA and PhD in English with a concentration in medieval literature from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. She teaches courses in Medieval Literature, Chaucer, Old English, and History of the English Language as well as World Literature and Composition. In 2016, she was awarded the 大发体育开户 Teaching Excellence Award, and was 大发体育开户鈥榮 nominee for the University System of Georgia鈥榮 Felton J. Jenkins, Jr. Hall of Fame Faculty Award. She has served as 大发体育开户鈥榮 Faculty-in-Residence for RiverPark Campus student housing, and at 大发体育开户鈥榮 Spencer House in Oxford, UK, and was an Honors College Faculty Fellow for 2021-2023.
She is the co-editor of two volumes, A Companion to Boniface (Brill, 2020) and Sources of Knowledge: Studies in Early Insular Literature in Honour of Charles D. Wright (Brepols, 2023) and has published in journals including Chaucer Review, Early Medieval Europe, and Studies in Medieval and Renaissance Teaching. She is also the Book Review Editor for Medieval Perspectives, the peer-reviewed journal of the Southeastern Medieval Association.
