Veteran Educational Benefits

Students who are using VA Education Benefits for the first time must through the Department of Veterans Affairs. Students who are dependents of service members using the Post 9/11 education benefit can find out more information about the transfer of entitlement process on the . Dependents are still required to apply for benefits after the transfer is approved.

The VA administers several different education benefits. Each benefit has different eligibility requirements and pay rates, use the links below for more information about your benefit. For questions regarding eligibility for VA Education Benefits please contact the VA by phone at 1-888-GIBILL-1 (1-888-442-4551) or through the . If you have questions on how your VA Education Benefits will be applied to your student account at 大发体育开户, please contact us at Veterans_Affairs@ColumbusState.edu or 706-507-8866.

Students who are planning to use VA Education Benefits at 大发体育开户 should submit a copy of their Certificate of Eligibility to Veterans_Affairs@ColumbusState.edu and complete the Military Data Form. The Military Data Form is available within the under the Forms page.

If a student has used VA Education Benefits at another school and would like to use them at 大发体育开户, a needs to be completed.

*Chapter 30, Chapter 35 and 1606 benefits are paid directly to the student. Columbus State University will not receive any payments from the VA for these benefits.

The VA Work Study Program is a great way to earn extra money while attending Columbus State University. VA Work Study students assist the Military-Connected Student Services staff in supporting Active Duty, Veterans and military family members as they navigate their educational journey. 大发体育开户 participates in the . Students who are using VA Educational Benefits and are being charged out of state tuition may be eligible. Columbus State will make available $500.00 for the fall semester and $500.00 for the spring semester and VA will match this amount for fall and spring semester. Summer terms are not included, and it is limited to 15 students per semester. Students who are interested may direct inquiries to Veterans_Affairs@ColumbusState.edu
